Virtual and Community-Based Interactive Fitness Training Program Designed to Motivate Groups to Get active

Thousands of people will sign up for more than 2,500 5K run/walk events nationwide this fall, and EA SPORTS is creating a unique training program to help them on the journey toward better health and fitness.  The EA SPORTS Active 5K Challenge is a virtual and community-based interactive fitness training program designed to help people achieve their personal goals, whether it’s simply to make it across the finish line or set a personal record.

Our EA SPORTS fitness expert Gerard Recio has created a one month targeted fitness program designed to get 5K participants ready for their events, including a mix of outdoor runs/walks and workouts using EA SPORTS Active, the customizable interactive training program for the Wii. Women and men of all ages and fitness levels are invited to get out, get motivated and train with EA SPORTS Active by joining a community team in their area or by following along with Gerard virtually.

To train with us for a 5K run/walk event, follow these simple steps:
1.    Log on to www.easportsactive5Kchallenge.eventbrite.com to find a training group in your community.
2.    No groups listed? No problem – start your own! We’ll provide you with all the tools needed to lead your community training group – just email easactive@ea.com.
3.    Follow along with Gerard at www.easportsactive.com/blog.action for the training program, and to participate in virtual Q&A sessions throughout the training experience.
4.    Conquer a 5K race with your group this fall!

Participants will receive the benefits of a personal trainer to guide them through the program, the opportunity to train with a group and a commemorative gift that recognizes their efforts to get active. Learn more about the EA SPORTS Active 5K Challenge, or contact Kathryn Peck at easactive@ea.com.  You can also find us on Twitter www.twitter.com/EASActiveGirl and on Facebook www.facebook.com/easportsactive, where we’ll be talking about the challenge throughout the fall.
